Edgar Freeman had only been on the Hammer payroll for a short period of time but has risen quickly through the ranks, mostly due to a series of screw-ups by his predecessors. The inability for them to learn by the mistakes of their predecessors had always amazed him but now that he was in the hot seat, he was feeling quite different. "The building is a series of refracted glass. Each pane may start out four inches wide on one edge but by the time it reaches the other edge, it's tapered out to six inches. …or two inches. Who can really tell? All I know is that it accomplishes two things. If a sniper tries to fire through it, their aim will always be thrown off. The chance of hitting someone will forever be skewed."

Edgar watched longingly as Dale sipped from his martini. He sure could use one of those right now. "The other advantage is that you can't eavesdrop into it with lasers."

Hammer stopped in mid-rise of the glass to his lips to look back at Freeman. "Lasers?" There was a pause as Hammer and Freeman looked at each other for a moment. Hammer raised his right hand pinky finger up to his lip in a Dr. Evil-looking motion. "Fricken' lasers, Scotty?" he said in his best Dr. Evil impression.
